After I've been using for a while the excellent NISI ND 180mm and 150mm ND Filters, I decided to give STC clip filters a chance.
I had been attracted by the few good feedbacks I've read in some blogs.
Here my impressions...
The test was made in the Monza Park in Italy, by a small stream of water just before sunset.
In this way I was able not only to see the qaulity of the image and the color cast of the filter but also the flare caused by the filters used.
I had with me a 10 stop NISI 150x150mm filter and a 10 stop STC Clip Filter both tested with a Sony A7R II with the Sony 12-24mm f/4 and a Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM
First thing that comes up is of course the size and weight of the 2 systems: NISI requires a quite big bag to protect the filters and an adapter that fits perfectly the Sony 12-24mm and can somehow be adapted to the Sony 24-70mm GM. STC Clip filters can be carried in their small boxes that are sold along with the filter and really weight nearly nothing.
But let's see the image quality...
SOON TO COME.... (sorry still working on it!)
